General
Haina Safari Lodge is situated on a 12,000ha conservancy along the northern boundary of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. The
setting of Haina Safari Lodge is classically African, relaxed and informal.
The Main Boma consists of a lounge, dining room, sun deck, swimming pool and bar area decorated in wood and thatch. An adjacent waterhole
where game come to drink throughout the day allows guests the luxury of game viewing from the boma.
Accommodating up to 20 guests, in private tented accommodation with their own decks, Haina Safari Lodge is the perfect
blend of luxury and wilderness allowing you to experience the harshness of the Kalahari in true luxury!
What to see and do
As well as offering you the opportunity to enjoy the kalahari bushveld from the luxury of your tent or whilst relaxing by the pool, Haina also offers
the following activities:
Game Drives: Accompanied by an experienced guide and bushman tracker you will explore the sights and sounds of the
Kalahari at sunrise and sunset. Evening sundowners are served with the sun setting over the Kalahari, whilst after dark a night drive gives you
the opportunity to see some of the Kalahari's more secretive animals.
Guided Walks: Join the resident ranger and bushmen tracker on a bush trail. Learn more about
animal spoor and the vegetation of the Kalahari. The walks are of varied lengths and duration depending on the guests
physical fitness but usually cover around 3-5 kilometers.

Bushmen Cultural experience: Haina Safari Lodge is home to a group of Bushmen,
who are free to continue their nomadic life or join the experienced staff at Haina. They will share
with you how they go about their daily lives, how they search for roots and plants to live on, how to
make a fire and do a rain dance.
Quad Biking: Quad biking is a novel way to explore the verdant countryside adjacent to Haina Safari
Lodge and to view the game and bird life, subject to the time of year.
Wildlife
Animals
Situated in the harsh landscape of the Northern Kalahari, Haina has a healthy population of large antelope such as Kudu, Gemsbok, Eland and
Wildebeest as well as smaller antelope like Impala, Steenbok and Duiker. Giraffe and Zebra are regularly seen as well as Warthog. The pumped
waterholes attract a wide variety of animals, especially during the dry season.
Haina is big cat country, with a number of prides of Lion roaming the area as well as several territorial leopards and cheetahs that move
through the conservancy. Wild Dogs and brown hyena are also occasionally seen.
Birdlife
With over 250 bird species, Haina offers birdwatchers the opportunity to see some of the desert dwelling birds of Botswana.
Flocks of Doves, Sandgrouse and Quelea can be seen at the waterholes whilst the surrounding bushveld is habitat to Shrikes, Robins and Chats.
The grasses attract numerous seed-eaters such as Whydahs, Finches and Larks and Raptors are commonly seen, especially during the summer
months when migratory species abound. Kalahari specials to look out for include Rednecked Falcon, Marsh Owl, Harlequin Quail and Capped Wheatear
to name but a few.
Accommodation
The accommodation at Haina features secluded, luxury, en-suite tents each with a private deck overlooking typical Kalahari bushveld.
